Love Me Not

I am not in awe
like I used to be
you over-swept my pain
and kicked my feet
thrown into the rain,
skinned up knees

I fell deep

might see through
your invisibility
might be too old
to feel young and free
what's never been
is what I saw in you

I over-flew

so I'll turn
the page of age
but I won't watch
the petal pull
to disengage

love be
love see

just watch
as I
untangle all
the nots
inside
of me

Leave

That leaf, left

blew high tangerine

was green

and the tree nods

waves windswept farewells

knows she'll hear

from the ones who

wanted to stay close

just as soon

as another

lets go and

leaves

Leaves have the perfect name for what they do

Craze

Temperature change;
dry dirt manages to rust
spinning wheels

Shining sliver of silver
blinds for a second
stings a blue hue

Hard close, black lashed cheek
paints soft, dramatic
to open and finally see

Oh yeah
in disbelief

That

Silly, fat, feral cat
points a sharpened claw,
blames the rat

Fail

Fool heart's linger
shadow, brave
chews her finger
eternal crave

Painted pain
ruined, spent
acoustic shades
sans silence

Mad volition
question marks
blurred reflection,
disembark

One of two
split; upended
into you
left suspended

Splinter wince
blood-let lives
fail to convince
exhaled good-byes

Serendipity

Dreams of unexpected beauty
tender breath
gathers memories
to store in a box
of tomorrows

One pale promise
written in aching penmanship,
uses it to catch tears
crushes its entirety
to her chest

Young and free,
the years grow
and so does she, and though
one's hindsight won't believe,
love, is serendipity

Montage blurry eye rub,
treasured essence kept safe,
pulled out by accident, it will feel
like yesterday,
when someday

She'll carefully lift that lid,
smell summer, trace quiet,
words on a tear-stained
goodbye note, smile, and maybe
believe in love again
